Jacksonville Chinese Association 傑城同鄉會
www.usjca.org
From the late 1980’s to the early 1990’s, more and more Chinese immigrants and scholars with vision and aspirations arrived in Jacksonville to work and to settle down largely as a direct result of China’s open-door policy and the deepening economic reforms. With the goal of promoting both cultural understanding of China and understanding of the local Chinese communities by the local American community and government, these newly relocated group of Chinese spontaneously organized themselves into what became known as the “Jacksonville Chinese Professional Club” in the beginning of 1996. The mission of this organization is to advocate cultural exchanges between China and the United States, provide a heightened exposure of China for the American government and the American society as a whole and strengthen the influence of the Chinese people within the local American communities and in the government .
