中 美 協 會 中 秋 活 動 暨 中 文 學 校 開 放 日

Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as Moon Festival, is one of the major festivals celebrated by Chinese community in the United States. Chinese American Association of Central Florida (CAACF) in Orlando organizes the Mid-Autumn Festival for the members every year. As the festival is a celebration of wholeness, abundance and rejoicing of family as symbolized by the full moon, the members, the Chinese school students and the parents were invited to experience the traditions with lanterns, mooncakes, games, cultural food and performances.

Chinese American Association of Central Florida is a non-profi t organization founded in 1969 in Orlando.
CAACF established The Chinese School and The Dancing Troupe in 1980 to promote the Chinese education
and to preserve the Chinese culture. CAACF will celebrate the 40th Anniversary with the Chinese New Year
on Feb 6th, 2010.

The Chinese School of CAACF is one of the most established and premiere Chinese schools in the state. Offering a variety of language and cultural courses, the school offers classes to all age levels in a fun and friendly environment. The school has promoted the Chinese language, culture,

Fundraising for Taiwan Typhoon relief
中 佛 州 慈 善 賑 災 餐 會

中佛州僑界2009年8月22日晚在佛州中華文化活動中心舉行「中佛州慈善賑災餐會」，募款援助台灣莫拉克風災受害災民，近200名善長僑胞出席愛心宴，當晚總共募得2萬2600元善款。

參與舉辦賑災的僑界社團包括中佛州中美協會、奇士美華人協會、佛州華商總會、佛州長青社、中華文化活動中
心、中佛州台美商會、國際佛光會佛州協會等，僑務委員廖柏虞、僑務顧問楊喬生、廖唯志，僑務促進委員陳秀美、郭萬來，前台灣同鄉會會長余秋蜜、中佛州台美商會前會長李長堅等均出席並支持活動。許多商家亦熱烈響應，齊
齊捐輸愛心。

國際佛光會佛州協會前會長葉依仁提供場地與餐具，廖柏虞提供主要食物，江大崙滷豬腳、周麗雪做油飯，嘉麟閣、龍宮、鄭蓮和蘇頤光提供大盤台式美食，李素文提供葡萄、陳秀美則提供西瓜、櫻桃等水果。龍之傳奇湯賢美為與會善長帶來兩項精彩雜技表演，長青社舞蹈組表演等。

僑務促進委員王正彥夫人鄭淑惠與陳桂梅負責票務，仔細記錄每名善長捐款。中美協會和中華學校義工們則在臨時攤位上主持義賣，琳瑯滿目的義賣品包括東方超市捐出的廿箱龍眼、百餘個麵包和環球影城多張門票、奧蘭多魔術隊球員親筆簽名籃球一個、Aliz International捐贈手袋、Garden Vision的Amy黃提供蘭花、Beauty World Skin Care亦提供美容服務券義賣。還有餐廳餐券：Red Lobster、Bahama Breeze、Kobe Steakhouse、金漢餐廳(China Garden)、翠苑餐廳等均捐出金額不等的餐券作義賣。

晚會中共募得捐款2萬2600元善款，包括愛心宴票款加上各界和現場捐款，計有廖柏虞3310元、天馬旅行社曹美鳳3400元、中佛州台美商會總計1200元，中美協會捐款1000元，連同義賣共募集善款3000元；大家樂會員捐款包括楊景嫻500元、China Max 500元、顏明和杜彥夫婦500元等，共計2070元，龍之傳奇湯賢美1000元、大奧蘭多台灣商會會長鄭蓮1000元，長青社、奇士美華人協會、文化活動中心董事長江大崙、Carol Burnette等各捐款500元，吳美卿、吳淑卿、吳娟娟各300元，以及其他金額不等的捐款。

當晚的晚會由張培本及楊景嫻主持，廖柏虞在致詞中感謝各界發揮愛心捐款援助台灣災民。中華學校董事長、中美協會前會長周曼宜則特別介紹熱心參與賑災的商家和民眾，並鼓勵各界繼續發揮愛心，幫助災民。 佛州中華學人協會會長徐祖慈與其夫人徐敬曉除了響應募款行動外，也表示該會將在9月9日舉行的「北美華人科技及文化研討會」中，亦將進行莫拉克風災之募款行動。

中佛州地區的其他捐款單位還有北美洲聯合總會目前已募集13萬餘元、奧蘭多台福教會捐款3萬元、大奧蘭多台灣商會8000元、大奧蘭多台灣同鄉會募款6000元、奇士美中文學校捐款3500元。另外，國際佛光會、慈濟基金會、法鼓山和各教會團體也都有募款，分別由各團體轉交台灣救災。

Typhoon Morakot has caused about thirty billion Taiwanese dollars losses in agriculture and infrastructure. It is expected the total reconstruction cost will be about NT$120 billion. Chinese Association of Central Florida,
together with Chinese Business Association Florida, USA; Chinese Cultural Center; Evergreen Senior Club of Orlando; Kissimmee American Chinese Center; and Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce Greater Orlando in Central Florida
have organized a fundraising event on 8/22/09.

Chinese Chinese American Association of Central Florida (CAACF) celebrated the Lunar New Year with close to 300 Chinese school students, parents and friends at VariAsian Crazy Buffet.
Performances included Lion Dance by Vincent Nguyen’s Lion Dance Group, Kung Fu Fan Dance by CAACF
Chinese School Dancing Troupe, Acrobatics by CAACF Chinese School Acrobatic Team, Chinese Folk
Dance by CAACF Chinese School Dancing Class and 3 Professional Acrobatics Acts by Dragon Legend.

屆時將會有龍之傳奇, 奧蘭多中華精英藝術團, 中華學校武術班學員, 及音樂等演出精彩項目。

所得收益全數捐助中國四川地震重建學校教育之用

Mid-Autumn Festival will be held on Saturday, Sept 13th, 2008 at 6:00pm in the Winter Park 9th Grade Center Auditorium. Performances include Acrobatics by SinoElite Group & Dragon Legend, Kung Fu Demonstration,
and Musical.
